You can still save all your historic Google Analytics Universal data and merge it with your GA4. Do you know how? Keep reading

What happens after july 1st 2023?

2012 - 2023

Google Analytics Universal, or "GA:UA" has been active since 2012, but in July 1st 2023, it will stop working for those that do not have a Google Analytics 360 license, for those with the license, they will get an extra year.

2020 - Now

Google Analytics 4, or most known as "GA4" is the new platform that will totally replace Universal Analytics. The only thing is that you cannot take your historical data from UA into this new platform.

If you take data-driven decisions to make sure that your company runs according to its performance in multiple channels AND you want to still be able to see your historical data from GA:UA, Streamline might be for you.

Streamline makes sure to match Google Analytics Universal with the “language” from GA4 and puts both data platforms into your own Cloud. From there, you both own your data in a GDPR friendly way and you can make sure to save all your most relevant business insights in one place.

Once, everything is saved and automated in your Cloud, (because GA4 data will be saved every 24 hours), you will be able to easily visualize fast and quick into a Dashboard like this:

How does it work?

Data export

Programming

Google Analytics Universal is transformed to match Google Analytics 4 “syntax”. Then both platforms are transferred into a Cloud Database in SQL format.

Cloud Storage

Servers

Once both platforms are matched and exported into a Cloud Database, we ensure that new data from GA4 gets updated into the new datasets every 24 hours

Now you can visualize both Google Analytics Universal and GA4 together into one Dashboard. You made it, now you have both platforms into only one!

Who can benefit from Streamline

You are a late mover into GA4 and just migrated your Google Analytics set up. Meaning, that once Google Analytics Universal’s data dissapears in 2024, you will only have your website’s performance data for a year or less, to look back in time into how well your different marketing channels performed.

You might have migrated into GA4 on time, but forgot to set up some relevant events and conversions that you where able to see in Universal Analytics. Meaning that you can see general performance data, but not specifically all the events and conversions that helps you understand how well your business is performing.

You migrated your set up somewhere in 2022 or 2023 and you just realized that in 2024, you won’t be able to do proper performance comparisons Year Over Year or Month Over Month between different business years.

Want to know more?

The Tracking & Analytics team will be very happy to have a free of charge look at your current Google Analytics set up and give you piece of mind. We will let you know whether or not you need to export your historic data before Google Analytics Universal is sunset.
